What are your dreams? Do you even have any? Do you live life day to day waiting for the weekends to get here or for the day just to be over with? Are you caught up in the hustle and bustle of letting life live you?
I dare you friends, dream a dream! Put a goal in front of you. Dream a BIG dream. Let it scare you.
We need motivation and that does not come from our outside world, that comes from within us. It comes from wanting to achieve and succeed in our life. It comes from working towards something bigger than ourselves.
How do you get a dream?
Let me ask you, what would your perfect day look like?
Say, ten years from now, it’s your perfect day, what would that consist of? How would your day start? What would you be doing and who would be there? Go on, let loose for a minute and let your thoughts get away with you. What would it look like?
God did not create us to live a life of mediocrity. He sent His son Jesus so we may live life in abundance. I always say, life is an action word. We need to put action into our lives and live it! So come on now, what are your hopes, dreams and goals? And most importantly, what stops you from achieving them? I know, I know I’ve been there too, fear, financial issues, time, the “can’t be me” attitude, the busyness of life, and whatever else excuse we throw in there to stop our own selves from going after the dreams and goals we have in this life. Listen, God did not place those dreams and goals in us if He had no intention of helping us reach them.
So, how do you go about getting some dreams and goals if you don’t have any? I suggest writing down all the things you’d like to do in this life. yes write down even those crazy out of this world ideas. Go on write them down!! Now, divide them up and for each one put a little action plan in place. Ok for example, lets say someone wants to travel the world helping others less fortunate but they don’t have the money to get started. They can start off by writing their dream to travel to places where the need is great. An action plan for this would be this person can start off by helping those in their own community first. Most importantly, be sure to see and read your dreams and goals list everyday. You get what I mean? Let your dreams and goals be BIG and BOLD. Some may come to pass and others may not but that’s not the point. the point here is, having dreams and goals gives you passion for living and motivates you in life. It keeps your mind focused on reaching those dreams and goals and keeps you from wasting your precious time worrying what others are doing or not doing. It places your energy where it counts and where it matters.
I had a dream and a goal to write a book. Guess what? It came to pass :)
So go on now my friends, dream your dreams and live life with passion. We get one chance at it, make it count!
And for all you parents out there, would this not be a great example for our kids? Do we not teach them to go for it in life? Lets do the same. We were created for great things, own it and live it!
God bless <3
17, 19, 21.
The exact ages my kids are today. The exact ages I was when I gave birth to them. Gosh, looking at them and watching them live life is a breath of fresh air. They go to school, work and have a social life. They have hobbies, they have goals and they are ambitious. Best of all, they’re kids. :)
It’s funny how different their life is compared to mine at that age. I was changing diapers, playing tea parties and action figures. I was living life for them. Living life around them. I’ll tell ya, I was living because of them. You see, I have come to really accept and understand we are exactly where we need to be in life at this very moment. Mine at that time was raising these fabulous kids of mine. And you know, they are really great kids. Just today my son was out with me cleaning up around the house and we are able to giggle together and be in each other’s company. I am so very glad and so very blessed life turned out the way it did. I am also so very pleased my kids are living life and truth be told, that I’m not a granma yet! lol ;)
So on that short note, I am basking in the fruits of my, ehemm, mine and God’s labor, and I’m enjoying watching my kids grow up. It’s a good reminder for me also to see how far I have come in this journey of life. It has definitely been a journey worth taking!
May we all get to this point. May we all learn to believe it and accept this truth.
You my precious friends, are redeemed. WE ARE REDEEMED!
God bless you this wonderful Friday afternoon ;)
For being 17 years old and growing up in a world that seethes with objectification of women, I am soooo pleased and soooo extremely proud to share what my youngest daughter Rebekah wrote as her base for the monologue she preformed at school. I am sharing this with her permission :)
The pressure put on women to be perfect in our society today is an outrage and is unacceptable. Society has put out an image towards what the perfect sexy girl is supposed to look like. This consists of large boobs, a big ass and a tiny waist, perfect face, long hair, and for some reason a virgin.. I don’t know who decided or when they did, that women have to save themselves for the perfect man or be called a slut or easy but men go around taking a certain special v card from women and wave them around to their friends like trophies. Women have been pressured so much by so many people to be the perfect girlfriend or wife, we have to cook, clean, tend to their significant other and keep our mouths shut if we feel a certain way about anything to avoid a fight or to avoid coming off as controlling or annoying. Speaking of annoying, clothing stores are annoying. More specifically WOMEN clothing stores are annoying. Everything is either half shirts and booty shorts to a tank top creating the illusion that its actually believe it or not a dress!! Sweat pants are made as tight as leggings now to show off your body, i haven’t been able to purchase a regular cant pair of sweatpants that make me feel comfortable because if women want to be comfortable MAKE SURE YOU FLAUNT YOURSELF DOING IT because that’s how society wants us to dress, clothing stores sell us clothes that men would like to see us in and we buy them because of all this pressure to be sexy desirable women to gain acceptance in society.
I’m very glad she see’s past this superficial expectation. May we as parents instill the good morals and protect ourselves and our children from this. Happy parenting :)
“And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” – Jesus in John 8:32
There are so many things I want to say and so many choice words I would like to yell but there is no need. God does my fighting for me and that my friends is what counts ;)
Thanks for watching.
