Use It

Do you have special china or tea cups you use only for “special” occasions or don’t use at all? I do, But I use mine everyday. I have come to learn and live that everyday is a special occasion. Our lives are special occasions everyday, not just on some days we think. YOU are a special occasion. Get those fine collectibles out and make everyday a special occasion for you and for the fam. Go on, if you’ve got fine china, use it for dinner tonight. If you’ve got special pots for cooking, use them to make that dinner tonight. Get out that cutlery you’re saving and use it. Life is for living in the now. Go for it and enjoy it while you can.

I have tea cups that have been passed down to me and they are worth money. I use to keep them in a cabinet and just look at them. Heck not anymore, I love my tea and I thoroughly enjoy that hot cup of tea in those fancy little cups. So go on and enjoy. You are worth it. Worth more than those fancy plates, cups, cutlery or pots. Yup even the  linens. HAhahaha ;)

PS- I even use my tea cup saucers for cat food :o lol ;)

Just Sayin’

Hey!

Just want to say,  Thank you!

Thank you for following, for sharing, for your support. Thank you <3

A Good Reminder

I received an email this morning and the person who sent it, explained how they were reading my blog and how encouraging it was to them and how they look forward to reading more. I also saw a post my daughter commented on on Facebook, and she went on to share her experience in a situation she was in and her gratitude for me, her mom :), who stood by her and was her voice when she didn’t have one.

I was, I am, very humbled. I am very grateful that my life’s experiences are able to help others. I am so grateful to God for turning these ashes to beauty.
Some days I feel discouraged and a little blah but it’s times like this that God reaches down, touches my heart and gently reminds me of my purpose and how good my life truly is.

Thank you! Thank you to all of you for reading my blog, for buying my book, for your continues support. And thank You God for always loving me so much and never leaving my side and for providing these bursts of blessings when they’re needed :)

Have yourselves a fabulous, blessed day :*

Ch Ch Ch Changes

Listen friends, life doesn’t change until YOU change. If nothing changes, nothing changes. Attitude, thinking, speaking, living. Life changes when YOU change.
I did it and I’m still doing it, and I’ll tell you, I’m happy, joyous and free today.

Time to stop looking out and start looking in. It’s not easy at first but as you keep at it, one small change a day, life becomes lighter, you start to feel at ease and your outlook on life changes and in turn God works through you and life takes a beautiful shape.

C’mon friends, life is for living, live it well!

Happy Saturday of change to you! ;)

17, 19, 21- Living Life

17, 19, 21.

The exact ages my kids are today. The exact ages I was when I gave birth to them. Gosh, looking at them and watching them live life is a breath of fresh air. They go to school, work and have a social life. They have hobbies, they have goals and they are ambitious. Best of all, they’re kids. :)

It’s funny how different their life is compared to mine at that age. I was changing diapers, playing tea parties and action figures. I was living life for them. Living life around them. I’ll tell ya, I was living because of them. You see, I have come to really accept and understand we are exactly where we need to be in life at this very moment. Mine at that time was raising these fabulous kids of mine. And you know, they are really great kids. Just today my son was out with me cleaning up around the house and we are able to giggle together and be in each other’s company. I am so very glad and so very blessed life turned out the way it did. I am also so very pleased my kids are living life and truth be told, that I’m not a granma yet!  lol ;)

So on that short note, I am basking in the fruits of my, ehemm, mine and God’s labor, and I’m enjoying watching my kids grow up. It’s a good reminder for me also to see how far I have come in this journey of life. It has definitely been a journey worth taking!

For You And You And You…Yes, Even YOU!

May we all get to this point. May we all learn to believe it and accept this truth.

You my precious friends, are redeemed. WE ARE REDEEMED!

God bless you this wonderful Friday afternoon ;)

The In-Laws

As soon as someone starts to say “the In-Laws” many thoughts come to mind, I’ve often heard many speak of their in-laws in a manner that, well, lets just say, is not too edifying.

Today I am here to talk about my In-Laws.

I don’t even know where to begin. Twenty years ago I met their son whom I married less than a year of being together. A year after being married and two children later, I finally met my in-laws.

To be honest as I sit here and write, I don’t know why I have never mentioned them before. Not here on this blog nor in my book. You see, my in-laws are one of the most fantastic people I have ever met.

They did not know me nor did they know my son. I was a package deal when Rob, their son, met me. Me and my little awesome boy Alex who isn’t so little anymore ;)

Did my in-laws care about this? Did they reject this? Did they shun us? Did they have any inhibitions towards this marriage and having an adopted grandchild already???? One word. NO. You know what they did? They welcomed me and Alex like we were their own! They loved on us and accepted us as their family. Who were these people I did not know? My son’s biological family wanted no part of us and here were these in-laws of mine who without even knowing us from Adam, welcomed us with open arms into their heart and into their lives.

Bob and Doris is their name. I call them Mom and Dad :)

They gave my son the second set of grandparents he did not have. They gave me the best in-laws who love me and accepted me that I did not have nor ever experienced.

You know what’s even more awesome? I have a super amazing sister-in-law too! She is so funny and just so great! I gotta tell ya, she’s my favorite but shhhh, don’t tell anyone ;)

Last week we had an emergency trip to New Brunswick, things turned out better than we had anticipated heading out. This trip gave me a reminder that I am very blessed to have these people who are my in-laws in my life. They have added such comfort and much support over the years. I am very grateful that life turned the way it did. Had it not, I would have never met them let alone have them in my life.

Dad and Mom, I want to tell you, I love you both so much. I thank you for always loving us and always being a part of our life and even though we live in different provinces, you always make it seem as if we are so close. You’ve taken us “in” and I will forever be grateful to you both for that.

Roberta, you rock sister! Thank you for everything <3

So friends, that’s what I gotta say about my in-laws. Well, there’s much more but I’m already at 500 words. lol.

I’m sharing a collage of pics with you of my in-laws. There’s Rob and Roberta and her fiance Denis, Dad and Rob, Dad and Mom and there’s a pic of Dad with the girls.
